Consumer-facing spaces are dynamic, crowded and highly unpredictable, requiring robots to safely navigate constantly changing obstacles, operate in different lighting conditions, navigate narrow passageways and cluttered spaces, integrate with existing infrastructure, and balance autonomy and safety.
As robots move beyond warehouses and other controlled environments and into everyday life, solving these navigation challenges will be critical to achieving broad consumer acceptance and large-scale deployment.
At RoboBusiness 2026, Aaron Edsinger, co-founder and CEO of Hello Robot, and Matt Anderson, co-founder and CEO of A&K Robotics, will take part in the session “Shared Spaces: Navigation Challenges for Indoor Robots.”
RoboBusiness will be held on October 20 and 21 in Santa Clara, California. Edsinger and Anderson will give their speech at 3:30pm PT on the first day of the show at the Engineering Theatre.
Meet the speakers
Aaron Edsinger is co-founder and CEO of Hello Robot, which develops practical, safe, and accessible robots for people. With a passion for building robots and robot manufacturing companies, he has founded four companies focused on introducing human collaborative robots to the consumer, manufacturing, healthcare, and research markets.
Two of these companies, Meka Robotics and Redwood Robotics, were acquired by Google in 2013. As director of robotics at Google, Edsinger led the business, product and technical development of two of Google’s core investments in robotics and worked closely with the senior vice president and C-level executives to shape the overall robotics strategy.
Edsinger is a recognized innovator in the field of robotics with extensive knowledge of the entire robotic product design stack, including human-robot interaction, UX design, and mechanical design. He is also an expert in design for manufacturing, industrial design, software architecture, and real-time control, as well as the design of force-controlled arms, actuators, hands, and humanoids.
Matt Anderson is co-founder and CEO of A&K Robotics, which is building autonomous mobility infrastructure for complex human-centric environments like airports. He leads the company’s product strategy, which includes Cruz, a self-driving mobility robot that transports passengers in dynamic, high-traffic environments such as airport terminals, and Kineos AI, a socially intelligent autonomy platform that allows systems to move naturally through dynamic spaces.
Anderson brings credibility to corporate and public sector partners by translating advanced autonomy into institution-ready solutions. He has over 10 years of experience building and bringing to market advanced technologies ranging from autonomous aerial drones to surgical devices.
Matt is an alumnus of Creative Destruction Lab’s artificial intelligence and machine learning program. In a past life, he was a chartered accountant working in finance, investing, and business development.
