Wabi Raises $55 Million at $1.25 Billion Valuation to Grow Personal AI Assistant – Unite.AI
AI personal assistant company Wabi has raised $55 million in funding led by IVP at a valuation of $1.25 billion, according to the company’s announcement dated October 29, 2026. Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Forerunner and Amazon Alexa Fund also participated, along with angel investors and founders Tobi Lütke, Marc Benioff, Marissa Mayer, Dick Costolo and Alex Pall.
The announcement, released in San Francisco, says the increase follows strong interest in Wabi’s recent public launch. The company said the new funding will support continued product development and expansion.
An AI agent with custom mini-apps
Wabi describes its product as an AI personal assistant designed for people to use together, combining an AI agent, custom mini-apps, and shared spaces. The company compares this to assistants built for a single person typing in a single chat, and says it’s betting that the next phase of personal AI will take place between people, aiming for newlyweds planning their next adventure, book clubs hosting theme nights, groups coordinating weekend routes, and families coordinating the day-to-day work of running a household.
According to the company, personalized mini-apps make these interactions more than just chats: Couples can keep a shared list of new restaurants to visit and tick them off as they go, families can share a weekly meal plan that turns into a grocery list, and friends can create trivia games for milestone birthdays or trackers for a book club. The tools can be revisited and adapted over time, and Wabi also takes care of day-to-day responsibilities, according to the company, from managing family commitments to helping kids with homework to setting appointments and making travel arrangements.
The company’s website presents the assistant as a tool used together, with group chats that do more than just talk, such as planning trips, booking stays and turning jokes into games. The site says that the assistant can also proactively work on tasks like bills and dinner, and that it returns the results in an interface suited to the situation. It offers widgets that users can add to iOS and Android home screens, and claims that work started on a computer can be resumed on a phone or vice versa.
In a manifesto published on its website, Wabi calls itself the first personal software platform and frames the product as a personal agent operating system. The manifesto says its mini apps are based on the user’s tastes, habits and context, and are powered by what the company describes as persistent user memory. He also argues that traditional apps remain one-size-fits-all products, built for billions of people rather than individuals.
The announcement states that since launch, users have found creative ways to use Wabi together: Friends have used it to find new bands based on their overlapping music tastes, run 30-day fitness challenges, and check in on each other during tough times; couples have used it to plan date nights; and people have used it to establish routines tied to personal goals or to get step-by-step guided support during a breakup.
Founder background and public launch
According to the announcement, Wabi was founded by Eugenia Kuyda, who previously founded the AI companion platform Replika.
Andreessen Horowitz said in a November 5, 2025 post written by Anish Acharya and Justine Moore that he led Wabi’s $20 million pre-seed round. In that post, the company described Wabi as a tool that democratizes software creation, said the product allows users to generate an app from a prompt and refine it through the interface instead of working with code, and said that Kuyda’s previous company, Replika, had reached 40 million users after entering the corporate market years early.
On October 19, 2026, Kuyda announced the public launch of Wabi 2.0 in a post on his X account, writing that personal agents are generally limited to one person and one chat, even if important parts of life involve more than one person. He described Wabi as an agent that people use together, where anyone from a partner to a best friend to a group chat can participate in a thread. His examples include Wabi adding a school’s modified pick-up time to the family calendar, finding a night that works for two people and securing show tickets, choosing dates, creating an itinerary and managing reservations for a group trip.
Statements from the founder and investors
“AI shouldn’t just save people’s time. It should help them spend it better, doing more of what they love, with the people they love,” Kuyda said in the announcement. He added that the company believes Wabi can become an operating system for life where people, their tools and their artificial intelligence come together.
Acharya, the general partner at a16z, said in the announcement that Kuyda had been early and right about AI companions, that personal agents need more than a chat interface, and that his company has supported it since pre-seed.
“Eugenia has a unique sense of where AI is headed and a track record of great taste in building it,” said Alex Lim, general partner at IVP. He added that Kuyda has a clear vision for how people will interact with AI that extends beyond the text box or command line.
The company said Wabi is available for download on iOS, Android and Mac, with a Windows version coming soon.
