Today, Agility Robotics began trading on the Nasdaq stock market under the ticker “AGLT.” The company claimed to be “the first pure-play legged humanoid company to go public.”

Agility began the trading day at $11.26 per share, above the initial price of $10 per share used in the SPAC deal. It was a day of ups and downs, as it has been for many tech stocks. It reached its lowest price at $8.40 and its highest at $12.15.

The company ended up ending the trading day slightly above (2%) its starting point, at $11.49. Other pure robotics providers haven’t fared so well.

Serve Robotics, another publicly traded robotics company that offers curbside delivery robots, closed 12.45% lower. Surgical robotics leader Intuitive Surgical closed 2.82% lower. Symbotic, which provides end-to-end warehouse automation, closed 2.47% lower. Additionally, PROCEPT BioRobotics Corp., which provides robotic aquablation therapy, closed 6.42% lower.

Although Unitree, another humanoid robotics provider, is not listed on Nasdaq, it is listed on the STR market of the Shanghai Stock Exchange. It is one of the only other publicly traded suppliers of humanoid robots.

Unitree first debuted on the market at 150.80 yuan (US$22.55), and found rapid success, reaching a high of 1,100 yuan (US$164.46) that day. Just a few weeks after debuting on the market, it was down nearly 53% from its first-day high. The company is still working to trace those numbers.

Additionally, China has reportedly tightened its requirements for initial public offerings for humanoid robot startups.

Stocks related to technology and artificial intelligence are struggling in the markets

Note that the entire Nasdaq fell 5.52% today, meaning that Agility was beating this overall trend. Much of these losses were concentrated in AI-related stocks.

NVIDIA closed the day down 9.26% from its opening price. AMD closed 17.26% lower, while Qualcomm fell 9.49%. Microsoft fell 3.58%. Rockwell Automation lost 14.15%.

Other markets experienced some of their worst days since April 2025. The S&P 500 tumbled 4.36% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average tumbled 3.44%.

This week’s midterm elections have caused fluctuations in the markets. While they saw some strong gains yesterday, many of those gains have dissipated today. Today’s losses have a lot to do with investor uncertainty about future data center construction with a now Democratically controlled Senate and House.
