Anthropic launches Claude Dashboards and Motion and drops documents from beta – Unite.AI

Anthropic launched Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion on October 8, 2026, and dropped the beta version of Claude Docs, Slides, and Design on every Claude plan, including Free. The company’s announcement also sets a closing date of December 14, 2026 for Claude Design’s standalone site.

Claude Dashboards connects to enterprise data platforms

Dashboards is in beta on paid plans. Connect Claude to a data platform like Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks, or Snowflake and work with a user’s other connectors, including Salesforce. A user asks a question in plain language; Claude extracts answers from the data, creates the dashboard and keeps it updated as the data changes. Anthropic positions the tool for quick, exploratory questions, providing examples comparing one week’s signups to the previous month’s and prompting for a Salesforce opportunities dashboard.

Each graph shows the query behind it and when its data was last updated, and clicking on any number emerges that queries or allows the user to ask Claude to explain it. When a question needs deeper analysis, a dashboard can be sent from Claude to Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, Omni, Perplexity, PostHog, or Sigma, where the analysis continues there. Anthropic lists Looker, monday.com and Tableau as coming soon.

Claude Motion creates animations as editable code

Motion is in beta on Team and Enterprise plans. Turns a tip into an animation that plays as a short video; Anthropic examples include turning a quarterly report into a 30-second explainer for a collective meeting, adding motion to a chart on a scoreboard, and creating a product overview for customer onboarding. The result can be edited in an editor or by asking Claude, then downloaded as an MP4 file. Typing “/motion” in Claude’s message box brings up the Motion option.

Anthropic said Motion writes code that animates the user’s text, graphics, shapes and images, so any words, numbers or times can be changed after the first release. The company said the tool does not use a video generation model, so the animations do not contain AI-generated footage and people. Finished animations can be opened in Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, Higgsfield, invideo, Luma AI, or Runway, with Canva and Captions listed as coming soon.

Docs, Presentations, and Design leave beta

Anthropic introduced Claude Docs and Claude Slides and introduced Claude Design to conversations on September 16, 2026, when it merged Claude Cowork and Chat into one Claude. All three launched in beta on paid plans, launching first on Pro and Max, followed by Team and free plans, and company administrators said they would hear from the company at least 30 days before anything changes for their organizations. Anthropic said that users have since made more than 45 million documents, decks and projects in Claude.

With general availability, artifacts support customer-managed encryption keys (CMEKs), and administrators choose the artifact templates used by their organization. Teams can edit the same document, presentation, design, or dashboard together with Claude, and users can share slides, projects, dashboards, and animations with people outside the organization or with anyone with the link, if the administrator allows it. PowerPoint and PDF downloads preserve formatting created in the editor, presentations are exported to Google Slides as editable files, and documents, presentations, and projects can be edited in the Claude mobile app.

For enterprise administrators, Dashboard and Motion are disabled by default and can be enabled in the Organization settings in Artifact. Docs, Slides, and Design are activated by default on October 15, 2026, and administrators can activate them before that date.

The standalone Claude Design closes on December 14th

Claude Design started with its own URL, claude.ai/design, and has run within every Claude conversation since September 16, where it can use user context, files, and connectors. Anthropic said that running two versions slows down fixes for both, so it is folding the standalone site into Claude. The site remains available until December 14, 2026, after which the URL redirects to Claude.

Organizations can migrate design systems from the Artifacts page in Claude by clicking “Migrate Team Design Systems.” A migration affects all design systems in the organization, and the originals remain unchanged in the standalone version until shutdown. According to Anthropic’s migration guide, each migrated design system retains its owner and the people it is shared with, while empty design systems and those created from an integrated starter theme are not migrated.

Projects continue to function in the standalone version until shutdown, and the Artifact page lists up to 60. Chats with Claude and comments on projects will remain in the standalone version and will be deleted after closure in December 2026 per Anthropic’s data retention practices, and public links to standalone projects will stop working. Users who wish to keep a project can download it as a free.zip archive export, one project at a time. Organizations with zero data retention cannot enable artifacts, so they cannot migrate; Anthropic orders those organizations to download their projects before the standalone site shuts down.
